The working rules behind BidShop auction participation and post-auction commerce.
Browser countdowns and buttons help present an auction, but the server and database determine whether an auction is scheduled, live or ended, whether a bid is accepted, the current auction price, and the final winner.
Each successful manual bid is recorded as one accepted bid. The current funding model uses one bid credit where available, otherwise R2.00 from the Rand balance where sufficient funds exist. Failed or rejected bid attempts do not create accepted-bid value.
Accepted bids may extend the remaining auction time according to BidShop's active timer-reset rules. The browser display is advisory; the authoritative auction end time is held by the server.
When the authoritative end time is reached, the auction is finalised server-side. The recorded auction outcome is used to create downstream winner and eligible Buy Now commerce rights.
The current commerce model gives a winner a 30-day claim window from the authoritative auction end time. Adding a win to the cart does not pause or extend that deadline.
Eligible losing bidders may receive a 48-hour Buy Now offer based on accepted participation in that auction. Each accepted bid currently contributes R2.00 of protected Buy Now value. The discounted product amount is floored at R0.00.
Unused protection value is not cash, wallet credit, transferable value or a refundable balance. A product reduced to R0.00 may still carry legitimate delivery charges.
Attempts to manipulate requests, prices, auction identifiers, account ownership, browser totals or other client-side values do not override BidShop's server-side authority and may be blocked.
